Climate Change
Climate change is one of the most threatening issues ever faced by mankind, and it will have an unprecedented impact on human society, including housing selection, living habits, life and health, crop cultivation, etc. In many places, the rising sea level caused by global warming has already put the ecosystem under pressure, and the melting of glaciers and permafrost has brought more microorganisms such as prehistoric viruses and bacteria, which has seriously affected the survival and development of people in different regions. However, many countries and regions are still focusing only on the current economic and social development, which inevitably harms climate. For example, China, as the world’s largest emitter of greenhouse gases, consumes more than half of the world’s coal production every year, bringing enormous pressure to the global climate while developing itself.
IEC is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and advocates a renewable energy revolution to slow down the pace of climate change. Through close cooperation with government agencies, industrial and mining enterprises, energy companies, and academic institutions, we seek to support, conduct cutting-edge climate research, provide decision-making advice, and showcase best practices to promote carbon emission reduction in all regions and rely on energy transformation and industrial upgrading to help underdeveloped regions break away from their over-reliance on fossil fuels, to achieve net-zero emission goals.
